Cincinnati Craft Beer in North and West Side
Cincinnati’s “North” side isn’t very far north. The neighborhood known as Northside is only a 10 minute drive from downtown Cincinnati. Residents of downtown, the west side of Cincinnati, or even Northern Kentucky can easily get to the Northside neighborhood and the surrounding breweries to get delicious, award-winning Cincinnati craft beer.
A typical Cincinnati Brewery Tour route will include three of the following Cincinnati craft breweries: Urban Artifact, Taft’s Brewpourium, Brink Brewing, and West Side Brewing. All are located within 10-15 minutes of downtown Cincinnati. The five Cincinnati craft breweries are a good mix of what the old, new, large, small, and funky. They all have one thing in common; they are producing delicious Cincinnati craft beer!
Urban Artifact
The route to Urban is hopping on Central Ave. from downtown to avoid the I75 traffic. It’s an easy 15 minute drive from Downtown Cincinnati. You will enjoy some of the funkiest, unique beers in the country in this old church’s taproom. You’ll definitely be pushing your taste buds at this stop! Follow their social media page for the list of nightly live music performers. There is no food option here but venture down the street to Northside Yach Club. You won’t be disappointed!
Brink Brewing
Venture a little farther north to one of Cincy’s newest breweries, Brink Brewing. Located in North College Hill, this neighborhood craft brewery is already winning awards for several of their beers, including their outstanding Moozie Milk Stout. The usual advice here is to pony up to the bar and ask your friendly beertender about Brink’s delicious beers. Don’t forget to be adventurous!
Taft’s Brewpourium
Taft’s Ale House is located in the Over the Rhine neighborhood. The production brewery opened on Spring Grove, five minutes north of Urban Artifact. This is a large space with shuffle board, darts, cornhole and more games coming soon. They also serve delicious pizza in the taproom.
West Side Brewery
The final stop on the Cincinnati craft beer train of the North/West Side will be, appropriately, West Side Brewery. This is a true west side neighborhood that was due for an excellent Cincinnati craft brewery, and they got one! Brewing true-to-style beers, everything on tap is enjoyable. You can order in food here in a very large taproom or enjoy one of their daily food trucks.
Craft Connection will Get You There!
These routes are offered on weekly public Cincinnati Craft Connection Tours. They can also be selected as stops on private tours. Either way, they are great breweries to discover Cincinnati craft beer and have a good time with family, friends, and colleagues.
