Cincinnati East Side Breweries

Just a reminder; Craft Connection’s public tours run with a minimum of six guests. The maximum is 14 for each bus. In the rare and unfortunate instance there are not enough bookings, we have to cancel the tour and, of course, issue full refunds. This notification is given to guests 4-5 days in advance. For the guests who are not from Cincinnati, they have no idea what to do! As anyone who is unfamiliar with a city, you google “Things to Do Cincinnati/EastCincinnati” which provides fun sightseeing activities, along with concerts, festivals, dining, and sporting events going on that particular week. CityBeat is always a good resource as well. It’s almost too much to choose from so we’ve compiled a list of Cincinnati East Side Breweries. Keep in mind, all these breweries are a $30-$40 TOTAL uber ride to get around and visit from downtown.

Staying Downtown; Venture to the East Side

There are plenty of places to visit downtown and Northern Kentucky, however, if you have 3-4 hours of free time (or more), you should check out some other great neighborhoods only the “locals” are aware of. In the world of Cincy beer, you’ll want to check out Listermann, 50W, Streetside, Mt. Carmel.

Listermann Brewing Company

Listermann Brewing Company, located across from Xavier University, is a staple of Cincinnati beer. Started in the early ‘90s by Dan Listermann as a homebrew supply shop, Listermann’s now brews some of the best, award-winning beer in the city. As of the Summer of 2016, they’ve added Renegade Street Eats to their brewery. Their wings are downright unreal. The recommended beer is their Peanut Butter Porter which took a bronze medal in the 2015 GABF. This stop is only a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Cincy. If you’re a fan of barrel-aged beers, they never have a shortage and they are always delicious!

MadTree

Five minutes north of Listermann’s, you’ll reach MadTree! One of Cincinnati’s largest breweries and fastest growing, MadTree has grown up quickly and has not looked back from their opening a few short years ago. They’ve recently moved to a massive, awesome space roughly one mile from their original location in the Spring of 2017. If you’re in the mood for pizza, look no further than Catch-A-Fire Wood-Fired Pizza. This wonderfulness is washed down nicely with some PSA (Proper Session Ale) or be bold and try one of their rare, highly sought after IPA’s…just ask the bartender!

Streetside

Streetside Brewery is a wonderful neighborhood brewery located near Cincinnat’s historic Lunken Airport. They have a wide-array of beers, ranging from the light side to sours, big IPA’s, and delicious barrel-aged beers.

Fifty West Brewing Company

It may be time for a sit-down meal, enter Fifty West Brewing Company. This is a perfect place to relax, enjoy delicious food and well-paired craft beer. If you’re not in the relaxing mood, head across the street to their Production Works, enjoy more beer and sand volleyball. This is also a good spot for cycling or kayaking. Just about a one-stop-shop for a day off to enjoy the outdoors and delicious, local food and beer.

Mt. Carmel

Last stop is the first craft brewery to open in the modern era of craft brewing in Cincy… Mt. Carmel Brewing Company. This brewery is housed in the owner/brewer’s former house and you’ll realize it the moment you step in. Mt. Carmel has a wonderful, homie feel with an outdoor area that looks back into a heavily wooded area. This brewery is worth the stop for their beers and atmosphere PLUS they frequently have food trucks. Enjoy!
